Reinforcing Women Sports Events in Europe
Reinforcing Women Sports Events – ReWSE is a collaborative partnership that addresses the key priority of the Programme, “Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport”, specifically addressing the Priority in the field of Sport “Promoting equality and European values in and through sport – Equality in sport, including gender equality” by increasing equality, sustainability, visibility and inclusivity of women sport events in Europe.
The proposal stems from a previous collaboration, project n° 622400-EPP-1-2020-1-IT-SPO-SCP “Empowering Women for Sport events in Europe – EWSE”, that allowed partners to identify and analyze the common challenges and needs of women’s sports events, showing the gaps with men’s events in terms of visibility, investments and support in general. REWSE wants to build on and innovate on the results and the outputs that the EWSE project has started, first of all the digital map where women’s sports events are marked and connected in Europe, to reach more women and more events and to ensure a better impact.


The project has 4 main Specific Objectives:
1.
Strengthen skills and preparation of organizers of women sport events to put into practice the EU Green Deal guidelines in sport and be inclusive valorizing sport women with disabilities
2.
Contribute to reduce the gap between men and women sport events in terms of media coverage and visibility.
3.
Increase concrete opportunities and tools of networking and support for women sports events.
4.
Push sports donors, sports media and decision makers / policy makers in sport to increase attention, investments and visibility to women sports events, with specific attention to sustainability and inclusivity as key assets.
Outputs
The action will produce 10 relevant Outputs, disseminated through 6 national and transnational Events, involving 5 EU countries and a European sport network, impacting directly on organizers of sport events, with specific attention to women in sport with disabilities, and grassroots sport organizations in Europe, to increase their networking and capacity to plan and organize inclusive, equal, sustainable and stronger sport events.
